Garth Collins

Advocacy Director

Garth Collins is an executive producer and chief catalyst officer for maverick production house Dear Friend based in Vancouver, CA. A champion of fearless innovation, Garth has spent over a decade concocting winning formulas for agencies and brands through an unrivaled ability to unify them with the world’s most renowned creative talent.

Garth recognizes the competitive nature of the industry and thrives on it. This shouldn’t come as a surprise - until his mid 20s, Garth garnered a reputation as a bruiser on the ice and solidified his position as an enforcer for several teams in the WHL. While his hockey career fostered the winning mindset that he’s known for, the savage nature of his role didn’t align with his personal resolve or long-term goals. He would eventually swap out his stick for a pen, earn a Bachelors in Commerce at the University of Alberta, and relocate to Vancouver.

Shortly after moving to Vancouver, Garth would meet his future business partners and form Dearfriend.tv, now one of the fastest growing production companies in Canada. While he loves working with contemporary agencies and household brands, he’s even more passionate about redefining what advertising looks like and changing the narrative surrounding diversity through his leadership positions at both Dear Friend and Collective Bunch.

For as long as he can remember, Garth has been advocating for others - whether on the ice, on an agency call, or on set. It’s his greatest asset in any setting and he looks forward to sharing and accomplishing the missions of the collective whenever and however possible.
