The story is strong. Now make the room believe it.

01

The idea

Give strong writers an upstream mechanism.

Talent existed, but the bridge to the next career stage needed reinforcement. The accelerator focused on mid-career writers with original projects and the ability to benefit immediately from sharper pitching and sales skills.

02

What we did

Train for the creative work and the room around it.

Across eight weeks, participants developed creative process, pitching and sales capability while adding momentum to their individual projects and intellectual property.

03

Who came together

A serious coalition around seven writers.

The Pacific Screenwriting Program and Break the Room led the initiative in collaboration with Netflix, CMPA-BC, the Writers Guild of Canada and Creative BC, with Canada Media Fund support and Collective Bunch sponsorship.

04

The opportunity

Help good projects travel.

By strengthening how writers present, position and sell their work, the program addressed a practical gap between creative development and the next professional opportunity.

05

What comes next

More rooms ready for more voices.

The accelerator offers a repeatable model for industry-aligned development programs that help experienced creators convert strong work into stronger commercial momentum.
